Rodents will happily eat during the day or eat the spilled feed which a properly designed feeder will prevent. Don't poison, that kills off the natural predators of rodents if they get hold of a dosed rodent.

It operates at a frequency between 30,000 Hz and 65,000 Hz, which should be well above what a chicken can hear, which I've read online is 9.1 Hz to 7,200 Hz.
