XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports, the two Cup Series organizations that have not signed the charter agreement that begins in 2025, have filed an antitrust lawsuit against NASCAR and its chairman Jim France.

With the season counting down to its annual climactic finish, two NASCAR teams, one co-owned by legendary basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, have sued NASCAR and accused the motorsport series and its CEO of being “bullies.

XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports were the only two Cup teams not to sign new charter agreement with NASCAR.

"I didn't just file it for me. It's for everyone,” Jordan told The Athletic on Sunday about the antitrust suit.

Jordan told The Athletic, "I wouldn't have filed it if I didn't think I could win." His comments were made during Sunday's race at Talladega Superspeedway. The lawsuit alleges that NASCAR operates as a monopoly and utilizes "anticompetitive and exclusionary practices" to "enrich themselves at the expense of the premier stock car racing teams.

Michael Jordan said that he and Front Row Motorsports are suing NASCAR because they know they can win for the fairness of all teams in the Cup Series field.
