Peanuts! Get your peanuts here! The solar system has been passing out peanuts lately in the form of two different oddly shaped asteroids that recently passed by Earth, and both look like over-sized peanuts.

A stadium-sized asteroid is passing relatively close to Earth on Tuesday, NASA announced. Its distance from Earth and its massive size makes it a "potentially hazardous object."

The asteroid is around 500 feet and will come within 2 million miles of Earth, which is about eight times further than the moon.

Studying Bennu is imperative because the asteroid has a slim shot of eventually hitting Earth. NASA said in a 2021 paper from the OSIRIS-REx science team gives Bennu a [one-in-2,700] chance of impacting Earth on Sept. 24, 2182.

The bus-size asteroid, which was discovered on August 7 by the NASA-funded Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS), will be sucked in by Earth’s gravitational pull from September 29 to November 25, USA Today reported. During this interstellar layover, the space rock will likely become a “temporary mini-moon,” per Marcos.

UNDATED (WKRC) - A stadium-sized asteroid that passed by Earth this week will return, according to NASA. PEOPLE reported that NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory issued an alert regarding a "stadium-size" asteroid that would approach Earth on Tuesday.
