Greek authorities say two people have died overnight in a large wildfire burning through forestland above a seaside resort in southern Greece.

The flames were fanned on by strong winds blowing through forests left tinder-dry by a warm spring and hot summer.

Hundreds of Greek firefighters battled for the fourth day Wednesday to control a wildfire in the Peloponnese region that has killed two people and burned huge swathes of forest.
