In anticipation of the film’s October 12 premiere at the BFI London Film Festival, National Geographic in collaboration with the Falklands Maritime Heritage Trust—which funded Endurance22—has released stunning 3D scans of the wreck.

A new 3D scan has revealed previously unseen details of the wreck of Antarctic explorer Ernest Shackleton’s HMS Endurance, which was found in 2022 – more than a century after the ship sank.

The lost ship of Victorian explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton can be seen in incredible detail for the first time. The Endurance sank in 1915 and lies 3km (1.8miles) below the surface at the bottom of the Weddell Sea in Antarctica.

The Endurance has now been scanned in 3D, and the details are remarkably clear, making it look like the vessel was lifted back onto dry land.
