Israel says its troops in Gaza have killed Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, a chief architect of the 7 October 2023 attacks and the country's most wanted man. Sinwar disappeared at the start of the war triggered by the unprecedented Hamas attacks, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were taken hostage.
