Indian food delivery and e-commerce platform Swiggy has launched Bolt, a 10-minute food delivery service. The new offering targets customers seeking quick-to-prepare meals from quick-service restaurants within a 2km radius.

This move by Swiggy intensifies competition with other players like Zomato's Blinkit, Instamart (Swiggy's own quick-commerce platform), StepStone-backed Zepto, and Tata-owned BigBasket. These companies are transforming shopping habits by catering to consumers' growing demand for instant gratification across a wide range of products.

Swiggy Bolt is currently operational in six cities – Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Pune Rohit Kapoor, CEO of Swiggy’s food marketplace, said the company is eyeing a pan-India roll out of the service in the near future
