More DJI Air 3S leaks have revealed its likely specs, release date and an intriguing new accessory that'd be a first for DJI drones.

DJI has announced the Air 3S, an update to its existing dual-camera Air 3 mode. The Air 3S gains a larger Type 1 sensor on its main camera along with features that promise to make the drone easier to operate at night.

Like its predecessor, the Air 3S offers two cameras, but DJI has updated them in this model. The main camera gets a new 1-inch class sensor, which works with 48 megapixels and offers a maximum aperture size of F/1.8. The physical sensor resolution here should be 8064 × 6048 pixels. DJI speaks of a focal length equivalent of 24 millimeters.

The latest leak comes to us courtesy of JasperEllens on X (spotted by our friends at Tech Radar) who revealed a new device called the DJI RC Track controller. The controller will apparently let the Air 3S follow you without using a standard drone controller.

The Air 3S upgrades its main camera with a big Type 1 sensor and flies for up to 45 minutes between charges. It's been a little more than a year since DJI launched its dual camera Air 3 drone, but it's already back with a follow-up: the Air 3S.

The release of the Air 3S has been hotly tipped for a while, but today – with the formal announcement – the details have been fully revealed including DJI's surprise statement (since this is the 'prosumer' model) that it has a better image than the flagship Mavic 3 Pro.
