The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary special spotlighted talent that amplified pop culture movements of the last five decades. The program aired on Sunday (Oct. 6) with performances, interviews, archival footage, and a handful of special appearances.

Pop legends Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, and others lit up the stage with iconic performances during the star-studded 50th anniversary celebration of the American Music Awards on October 6.

Jennifer Hudson will honor 22-time AMA winner Whitney Houston, one of the top AMA winners of all time, with a performance tribute; and country superstar and five-time AMA winner Kane Brown will celebrate the legacy of Country Music at the American Music Awards with a performance of classic and current hits.

The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special aired live from Los Angeles Sunday (Oct. 6). Hosted by legendary singer Smokey Robinson, the two-hour special served as a tribute to the past 50 years and featured show-stopping performances,
