Joker: Folie à Deux director Todd Phillips has explained why he cut a same-sex kiss scene involving Lady Gaga.

Many fans of Lady Gaga have expressed disappointment on social media following the release of “Joker: Folie à Deux” as it appears a few scenes Gaga shot for the film did not end up making it into the final theatrical cut.

Paparazzi photos from the set of the Warner Bros. film in New York City from March 2023 featured the singer locking lips with a woman. The scene happens when Harley arrives at the courthouse to support Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck. As Harley walks up the courthouse steps, a heckler catches her attention and kisses her.
