East Lansing police are investigating human remains found inside a home's freezer last week, officials said. Officers were called Thursday to a home in the 1500 block of Wintercrest Street off of Coolidge Road between Interstate 69 and West Lake Lansing Road for a report of a suspicious situation, the department said in a statement.

When officers entered the home, they found the body of an unidentified person inside a freezer, police said. They also found “possible human remains” of a second person of unknown gender. East Lansing Interim Police Chief Chad Pride said the blood was dried, indicating the deaths did not occur recently, WLNS reported.
