Emergency crews are searching for two people missing amid flash floods in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, while thousands of others were evacuated as rivers burst their banks and flooded multiple towns on Thursday.

Emergency workers from various parts of Italy arrived in the Emilia-Romagna region to help local teams with rescue operations after torrential rains caused extensive flooding, the alpine branch of the Italian civil defense said.
